Siemens Launches Advia Centaur Tests In Europe

SiemensSiemens has launched a new device in Europe for prostate cancer testing, which is designed to offer improved detection rates. The Advia Centaur free prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests have been released after receiving CE-mark accreditation and complete a full menu of prostate cancer tests available from Siemens.

Randox introduces novel array technology

Randox Laboratories has come up with a biochip array for simultaneous quantitative diagnosis of three tumor markers in a single patient sample. This provides a quick, reliable and low-cost method for the screening of prostate cancer. The currently used PSA measurement is not a sufficient diagnostic tool in itself. The new technology from Randox is based on an ELISA format.
